A reflection.
A Lonely Road

Sitting softly in the sunroom,
Withered features, half-erased.
While thoughts of where you've been,
Retrace the line of time.
Life can never be undone-
Regrets still haunt your mind.

Searching. Not for the carnal,
Hope soon drifts away.
Looking deep and longing
For the simple place within.
Meanings became commonplace,
You ignored the outward signs.

Desiring to dine alone,
Yet fearing what you'll find.
Who will be there waiting
When your final breath is drawn?
Tattered pieces left to fall,
Along Death's lonely road.
